Point-to-point course on multi-laned streets
with two lanes dedicated to the Half Marathon. The first third is
relatively flat; the middle has two significant hills; the final
third is rolling down to the finish. Streets will not be closed to
traffic; however, intersections will be monitored by police and
official volunteers.

This was a very nice course & race! a lot of downhill for first 6 & those were NOT hills after that, just inclines at best...a PR course! Very good shirt, fair medal, great urban scenery throughout. My 20th state!

Great course support/aid stations but they ran out of jelly bellys before I got to mile 7. Medium size race in relation to my others. I recommend getting someone to drop you at start & pickup at the finish. MARTA lines were overcrowded in am & a 20 minute walk from finish. I love the T-giving day race concept!! All you can eat with no guilt!

Not a bad tour of the city, but a LOT of uphill running the last 5-6 miles. Atlanta weather is fickle--in the 30's at the start and near 60 only a couple hours later. Would have loved it if I hadn't been sick most of the week before and bonked about mile 11.

Started pouring as soon as the gun went off, squished my way to the finish. Rolling hills at the start, long downhill around mile 6.5-7, then the last 5 miles are uphill. Not very much course support other than volunteers because the entire course is through commercial areas on Thanksgiving morning. No-frills race packet and finish area. Very subdued for a race with 5000-7000 runners.

I ran this race on Thanksgiving morning 11/23/06 for my 39th state finishing a half marathon. There was perfect running weather to run down Peachtree Street but there was a lot of hills more than I would have thought possible in the South.

Extremely cold but we finished. My friend and my 14 year old niece walked it with me and this was my niece's first half marathon. I was very proud of her for finishing.

5 out of the last 6 miles are uphill, but finishing under the Olympic Rings makes it all worthwhile. It's amazing to get so many volunteers out on Thanksgiving morning.
